How can I keep from getting sued as we have found out we cannot get a mortgage and have to break our contract?
Our real estate agent wanted and got clearance to end our real estate contract. We are trying to sell our home. We have a business and cannot drop what we are doing to come home and clean the house at the drop of a dime. We asked for 24 hours notice. So, some viewings got turned away. Our real estate agent I guess got tired of this and basically asked us to put everything on the porch and the would remove their sign. They got lucky and at the last minute someone placed an offer. It was too low and we rejected it . They countered and our real estate agent said we should take it and basically pushed us onto a quick contract that we felt indifferent about. She never had our backs on anything and just wanted her 6%. We found out later from three bankers that we could no longer qualify for a new mortage because of stated income. We were going to be homeless. We wanted out of the contract. Our agent knew what we did and knew our stated income would no longer qualify for a loan. We are trying to keep our house and are trying not to get sued in the meantime. What are our rights?
